Switched at Birth

Switched at Birth is a drama show. It is the first mainstream television series to have multiple deaf and hard-of-hearing series regulars and scenes shot entirely in ASL [American sign Language] on the ABC Family channel.

The plot is about two girls, Daphne and Bay. Daphne is deaf but she uses hearing aids to help her to speak. Her real parents are Kathryn and John Kennish. Bay is a hearing person and she grew up with Kathryn and John Kennish. Her real mother is Regina Vasquez who raised Daphne. The two baby girls were switched when they were born in the hospital. Regina knew about Bay for a long time and spied on her for several years.

The show started on June 6, 2011. It is now in its third season. The director is Lizzy Weiss. Actors and actresses are Lucas Grabeel, Katie Leclerc, Vanessa Marano, Constance Marie, Sean Berdy, Lea Thompson, Ivoone Coll, Marlee Martlin and Maiara Walsh. Those characters are easy to understand. Switched at Birth has some music. The one song is “Takes Me Away”.

The show is very easy to follow the story and listen. It is on every Monday at 8 clock, The intended audience is families and teens. Switched at Birth was reviewed at 9.0 out the 10 from IMDb.
